LIVABLE COMMUNITIES
The concept of Livable Communities has become very popular over the past ten years as various interest groups - ranging from government agencies to developers - have used this approach to reduce suburban sprawl, decrease dependence on the automobile, provide high-quality public spaces, and protect precious natural resources. Livability concepts have also become the driving force behind the programs and policies of such initiatives as sustainable development, neo-traditional development, healthy communities, and smart growth.
At the Madison County Council of Governments, we strive to provide web users with a comprehensive listing of websites related to Livable Communities. If you know of one you'd like us to add, please feel free to contact us.
