ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING
Environmental Planning is the process of creating and implementing policies and regulations that consider the current and future impact of development will have on the natural environment. It incorporates sustainable development and growth management focusing on a wide range of environmental issues such as air quality, open space & farmland conservation, water quality, and natural resource management.
MCCOG works to build consensus on environmental planning and action for Madison County. Our approach to environmental planning is comprehensive because we believe that careful environmental planning creates a balance between protection of natural resources and promotion of economic development. Our approach begins with an understanding of the unique natural and physical environments that make up our communities and the constraints each community is facing. We are able to offer state-of-the-art solutions to address all environmental planning concerns.
