
Bike to Work Day 2012
The Madison County Council of Governments and the City of Anderson are hosting Bike to Work Day on May 18th, 2012. Registration is free. Ride your bike to work May 18th and join other cycle enthusiasts and bike to work day participants at the Little 500 Festival on May 19th for a celebration.
With registration, participants will receive a registration packet containing a raffle ticket (for the raffle May 18th during Pit Stops at local businesses), a t-shirt, a saddle bag, community information and other great stuff. The packets can be picked-up on May 18th at your Pit Stop (this list will be provided as the event approaches). You must be present for the drawing to win.
In addition, a Corporate Award will be given out during the Little 500 Festival to the employer that has the highest percentage of employees ride to work on May 18th.

Bike-to-Work Day is an annual event held on the third Friday of May across the United States to promote bicycling as an option for commuting to work and to showcase the all of the bicycle facilities within Madison County & Anderson. Leading up to Bike-to-Work Day, bicycle advocacy groups around the State will be hosting different events and workshops. Check the Indiana Bicycle Coalition’sand the Central Indiana Bicycle Association’s websites for more details.
If you are a bicycle enthusiast check out the Heartland Bikeways webpage and consider attending the monthly meetings. Meetings are held at the Anderson Library in the Carnegie Room at 3:00pm the first Thursday of every month.
